Line Oreintation of Composition- Vertical/ Horizontial

Line Oreintation of Composition- Horizontial/Vertical is defined as, expressive qualities that are closely associated with their oreintation in the composition. They emphasize the horizontal and vertical process a certain architectual stability, that mathmatical, rational control. The picture to the left is called, Leonidas at Thermopylae, created by Jacques -Louis David. Althought the picture is too faint to see, the arrows are pointing to verical, and horizontal lines that indicated a grid that is mathmatical. All the figures are perfectly lined within the painting, which shows skill, and patience throughout.
